A new kitchen and a 'cave au vin' fridge prompted a renewed interest in wine which has always been there. Should we fill this wine device with 50 bottles of syrupy rubbish from a supermarket, or learn about wine, good and great wine and seek to understand viniculture and oenology in more detail?
We started on our own little journey!
The journey continues after taking on WSET 2, passing with a distinction, progressing to WSET Level 3 and a few other courses.
Part of this personal journey and education is to learn about the wine, why and how it is made across different regions. What makes it special across the terroir (the earth in which the grapes struggle to grow) and the climate that influences the vine's output and importantly, tasting different wines, learning what is acceptable, good and exceptional wine and what we like and why.
Cotswold Chateau seeks to source and supply great wine, even the greatest ever produced, by experts in their fields and regions whose life's work has been the pursuit of the perfect 'slurp' and bottle.
Some of these wines are prohibitively expensive, however many do become available from time to time as 'Oddities', 'Bin Ends'. Superb and sought after examples in glass that appear to purchase from eminent and very well looked after cellars, from dealers, direct from producers or just at an amazing 'one time' cost promotion. We seek to source such wines and others which are just 'really, really good to drink'.
Cotswold Chateau Fine Wine aims to offer 'the best quality' at affordable prices, to offer exciting and interesting wine to like minded people, who themselves have a passion to own, gift or drink something different from the usual.
Something magnificent that is truly unique or in very short supply and unavailable.
Our stock inventory changes all the time. We buy direct from cellars, from Producers and Regional Wholesalers so we provide our Customers with interesting , intriguing and delicious wine to slurp, gift or keep.
We are not seeking to import and sell millions of bottles each year, but we are forming relationships with folks interested in wines from around the world, which is a real pleasure.
Please browse and if there is anything you fancy or would like us to source, please let us know.
