Domaine Alain Graillot Crozes-Hermitage La Guiraude 2001
An emblematic cuvée of the Rhone family estate Alain Graillot, La Guiraude shows, from a very young age, the full potential of the Syrah that makes it up 100%.
Made only during the great vintages, La Guiraude draws its origins from vines that were, for the most part, planted in 1986 by Alain Graillot, the father of the current owners, Antoine and Maxime Graillot. Harvested by hand, this variety, typical of the region, was then aged in barrels.
Enjoyed with a characterful dish such as a black pudding parmentier or quail stuffed with grapes, this wine with a deep ruby colour reveals a full-bodied and structured palate.
Highly concentrated, it seduces with a staggering finesse and an intense aromatic persistence.
The connoisseur will also find the typical aromas of the Syrahs of the appellation: ripe black fruits and sweet spices.
Here is a very fine cuvée that some critics do not hesitate to compare to the Cathelin from the Chave estate... That's saying something!
