Domaine Cauhape is a producer in the heart of Jurançon in the South West of France. The vineyards stretch over 43 hectares of steep hillside made up of mostly clay soils.
Naturally, the winery specializes in Jurançon wines, predominantly made from Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng. Petit Manseng is sometimes left longer on the vine to raisin and produce the sweet Jurançon Moelleux. Other grape varieties grown include Camaralet and Lauzet which are primarily used for the dry wines. Alongside the range of Jurançon wines produced, Cauhape also makes a Jurançon Sec.
Both the dessert and dry wines tend to be complex and fruit-forward with many of the wines seeing some oak. The winery is owned by the Ramonteu family.
